ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to plan and set up the collaborative enterprise and its management and to smoothly transition into day-to-day operations. The full business case contains the foundation for the collaborative project where the business opportunity has been defined, options have been explored, and a joint project has been outlined. The contents of the outline business case will be expanded by a joint project team from the partner companies. The agreed full business case will be used by a joint team to draft the commercial agreement along collaborative lines. For instance, the New Engineering and Construction Contract framework is a widely adopted, modern-day family of contracts that facilitates the implementation of sound project management principles and practices as well as defining legal relationships. The full business case and commercial agreement will enable a joint team to upgrade the various sections of the ERMP to form the foundation for managing the relationship.
