ABSTRACT
The theoretical and practical exploration of human development have gone through different stages and have formed different and even widely divergent understandings and generalizations. The concepts of innovative, coordinated, green, open, and shared development fully reflect the new ideas, new thoughts, and new strategies of party’s governance since the 18th CPC National Congress. The overall quantitative requirement of the Proposal for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieving the first centenary goal is to maintain a medium-high speed of economic growth and double the total GDP and the income of urban and rural residents on the basis of 2010 by 2020. The core of transforming growth driver is the shift from input-driven to innovation-driven economic growth, so that innovation will truly become the primary driving force of economic development. The idea of people-centered development does not come out of the blue but has deep roots in Marxist theory and the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
