ABSTRACT

The fourth module discusses the felt sense of “I,” meaning an exploration of our inner landscape. Mindfulness is important to multicultural education because knowing ourselves helps avoid being reactive and projecting to the world a version of self not authentic to our inner selves. When in conversation about challenging topics like racism, sexism, and oppression, we need to be in tune with ourselves and know where we're coming from. We each can develop a sense of wellbeing, which is everyone's right and a type of equity. This module discusses interdisciplinary sources, followed by a mindfulness practice on centering and resilience.
