ABSTRACT

Following up on the survey of pedagogical corpus applications for L2 German (Chapter 2), this chapter reviews and synthesizes the results of empirical research that tested the effectiveness of such applications. It focuses on direct corpus applications that were implemented in L2 German classrooms as data-driven learning (DDL) interventions. It starts with an overview of the background of DDL research, reports the results of a narrative review and a methodological synthesis of DDL research on L2 German in comparison with other DDL subfields, and suggests directions for future pedagogical interventions and research.
