ABSTRACT

Strategy is the third of six phases. It is about the strategic anchoring of a design project. It involves the development of the company's goals and strategies, and the use of strategy as a management tool for the design process. It requires sufficient insight into the company's situation and the problem the assignment is intended to help solve. Several sub-strategies may need to be developed in a project, such as brand strategy, communication strategy and design strategy. While goals are about what we want or where we want to be, strategy is about how to get there. ‘Strategy’ is the plan. Phase 3 includes chapters on strategy development, overall strategy, goals and sub-goals, business strategy, business model, market strategy, brand strategy, communication strategy and design strategy.
