Summary and Conclusions

Chapter 5 summarizes and highlights the main findings of this book. In doing so, a summary of what people perceive in terms of community policing, defunding the police, and abolishing the police is provided. This chapter illustrates how mass media and politics may act as barriers to public understanding about the terms discussed throughout this book and how this may influence police reform efforts.
