ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the ISO 31000 process step of risk treatment. The example developed in the previous chapter is continued to evaluate the impact of one possible risk treatment. The impacts of improving expected outcomes, reducing the likelihood of extreme events and reducing variability in outcomes are evaluated in turn. The chapter concludes by discussing some of the issues that need to be considered when combining risk treatments, and summarising the information that needs to be recorded and reported for this process step.
