ABSTRACT
In Chapter 7, the first chapter to open Part III of the book, the authors re-focus their analysis and examine trends and major changes happening to individuals’ career aspirations and expectations – the micro level. The author begins by describing the work lives of millennials, where they look closely at recent studies that touch on the career motivations, goals, and expectations of today’s college freshmen. Questions explored include: what millennials covet in their job prospects, what factors appear in their definitions of their ideal job, what they expect from their managers and professional networks, and more.
