ABSTRACT

In this chapter, readers will learn about the various educational models within a school counseling context. School counseling students and practitioners alike are invited to critique existing models and apply a community-focused, interdisciplinary approach to comprehensive school counseling programs. The chapter includes ways to a) reflect on critical consciousness and critical political standpoint; b) define and enact evidence-based practice as an inclusive endeavor; and c) examine one's readiness to develop a community-focused comprehensive school counseling program.
