Despite the public presentation of the Kyrie and Gloria at Santi XII. Apostoli in 1776, Ballabene’s plan to publicly defeat his enemies did not work out. Unfortunately, the hoped-for career jump that the forty-eight-part composition was supposed to guarantee was never achieved, not even in his later years.
