ABSTRACT

The Conclusion Chapter pulls all threads together by analyzing four broad yet intertwined theoretical considerations – two of which respond to two major points of critique of the Habermasian notion of the public sphere, that is, the plurality of publics, and religion as public/private. The third is the critique of Islamist thought conducive to the rise of post-Islamism, and the fourth is a critique of feminist thought to throw light on novel forms of Muslim women's discourses and activism in line with post-Islamist worldviews. It argues that the four theoretical considerations could be unraveled and interwoven within certain temporal factors particularly the proliferation of new media and the 2011 Egyptian Uprisings.
