ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 builds on the previous chapter and introduces students to the higher level of linguistic analysis of morphological processes. In this chapter, the main morphological processes, such as ‘inflection’, ‘derivation’, ‘compounding’ and ‘affixation’, are discussed and then linked to the actual act of translation. After studying this chapter, readers should be able to utilize these morphological processes to overcome certain difficulties while translating interlingually.
