ABSTRACT
If the government is one “them” of suspicion in America's socio-political culture, racial minorities and new immigrants have been the other. This chapter looks at the role of evangelicals in the slave system, white supremacy, segregation, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and recent struggles with racial reconciliation, refugee resettlement, immigration reform, and the treatment of women.
