ABSTRACT

Coaching new and experienced teachers through informal and formal observations is part of being a school leader. Building the capacity of new and experienced teachers is done through observations and collaborative meetings with all invested parties. Organizing long-term and short-term lesson plans with teachers allows leaders to effectively coach and supervise a team or department. How leaders coach novice and experienced teachers will vary based on the needs of individuals. However, promoting an efficient system of organization with all teachers will enable educators to maximize their time and organize their lesson plans to best promote student achievement. In addition, promoting school-wide initiatives such as peer visits will allow educators to grow in their craft and knowledge or best practices.
