ABSTRACT
If metacognition is knowing how you know, “metastrategics” is knowing strategies for proceeding with a task. A student can learn how to use analogy to frame an argument or write a poem, but using analogy for solving problems or creating story plots requires a strategy. Knowing these strategies and others is a productive level of awareness that many students do not have.
