ABSTRACT

The client is more likely to have specific ideas about the way they require the wet space to be than almost anywhere else in the house. In a compact wet space, there will not be much usable floor area, but it can counterbalance the wall finish to create an illusion of space. It is always a good idea in a small home to avoid too many changes of floor finish, so if elsewhere is wood, tile or marble it may be possible to carry this into the wet space. The soft furnishings, furniture and fittings can also be used to give character to a confined wet space. The clients specifically requested that they would be able to see through from the front to the rear of the flat, and the design team cleverly positioned the main wet space in the core so that this could be achieved.
