ABSTRACT

As Davanti was preparing for its typical late-summer slowdown—common across Italian industry—Ricardo and Sofia gather the Volta team in Emilio’s old office. After a short break, Sofia challenges the participants to identify obvious problems with the current process and, if they find one, create a red note, share the problem with the rest of the group, and then put the tag next to the process step where the problem occurs. She also encourages everybody to place issues from the parking lot on the map. A quick look at the existing prototype work orders reveals that some PMs had forgotten to cancel work orders for projects that are no longer in the portfolio.
