ABSTRACT
“Muda, muri, mura” seemed to be the only three words Lee Cheng, the lean expert from Davanti’s Taiwan plant, knew. He repeated them constantly, while pointing everywhere in the prototype shop with an angry look on his face. Luca quickly understood that Lee had found many opportunities for improvement. Luca imagined what would happen on Monday when Vinnie finds out they threw away half of his stuffand he is now part of a cell. Some technicians stopped by the freshly cleaned workstations and asked questions, and some followed the example right away. Luca also formed a team to create a replenishing system so they only keep the materials they need in the next 30 minutes at their workstations.
