ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the challenges and importance of the financial decision-making process and shows how to make it better to succeed in the journey. Spending includes buying (purchasing), renting, and consuming physical goods as well as utilizing services. It also includes paying our taxes of all types (sales, income, property, franchise) or any other expense. The act of generosity or giving (vs. simply spending or consuming) can positively impact our emotions and our brain. Salaries and wages tend to be at our highest and peak in our 50s. This extended period is known as accumulation because the peoples are focus on accumulating and building wealth (savings and investments). Generally, they begin to consider life after retirement, so our pre-retirement years are focused on preserving as much of our savings and investments as possible, knowing that they will soon not be able to collect monthly paychecks.
