ABSTRACT
One of the most important things science, technology, engineering, and math professionals must do while conducting an experiment or research is to record the data they collect. This is because they are following the engineering design process, and if they wish to replicate their results, they need to keep track of what they did. Recording data over time can be a valuable tool. One can record data in the form of memories and use it to make decisions all of the time. Students need to be shown what organizational tools are at their disposal and then decide which ones will best display their data. Properly labeling and having a key so that others can understand what the data are showing. Whenever students are looking at data over time, there needs to be an opportunity for them to reflect upon what was learned. Students will create a portfolio that represents their math learning over a 3-month period.
