ABSTRACT

There are several ways to use technology to enhance the learning of students, but one that is especially effective is the use of computer models, which allow students to ask What if. Computer models allow students to fail with a safety net in place. If a student is making a model out of popsicle sticks only to find out halfway through that he made a mistake in his foundation, he would have to throw the entire thing out and start with new materials. In this project, students will study an important invention and create a simulation using an online animation program that will show how the world would be different without this invention. Reader's simulation should show someone in the present day who does not have access to the invention they chose, and how this person's life is different from theirs. Some online animation programs to consider include Book Creator, Powtoon, Toontastic 3D, Puppet Pals HD, Storybird, and Google Slides.
