ABSTRACT
One of the most important things STEM professionals must do while conducting an experiment or research is to record the data they collect. This is because they are following the engineering design process and they wish to replicate their results, they need to keep track of what they did. The key is to organize data so that it can be understood and interpreted. Students need to be shown what organizational tools are at their disposal and then decide which ones will best display their data. The best graphic organizer to use is the one that will allow anyone to access and understand the data. That means properly labeling and having a key so that others can understand what the data are showing. Organizing data is a good skill for students, especially gifted ones, to learn and practice.
