ABSTRACT

Allowing students to learn by doing while pursuing their passions requires risk-taking. Taking a risk can be very scary, but the reality is that if we never take the risk, we will never see the reward. In the classroom, things can get messy, but there is a difference between messy learning and messy teaching. When teaching is predictable, it becomes mundane. When it becomes mundane, it becomes boring. And when it becomes boring, teachers burn out. Today’s learners need passionate educators. They need educators who know their own strengths and are willing to allow their passions to drive what they do in the classroom every day. Educators who have an intense enthusiasm for what they do each day are the educators who leave the biggest impact on their students.
