ABSTRACT

Taking risks is not easy. Education is difficult. Teaching is mentally and sometimes physically exhausting. As educators, there’s a lot that we can complain about in today’s classrooms. The school game that we are playing right now does not simulate the real world. As educators, we have the privilege of teaching every single learner who walks through our classroom doors. Speaking from experience, it’s easy to become frazzled, stressed, and worn out from teaching a classroom of 20–30 different learners for 5 days a week. Today’s learners need passionate educators who are willing to be who they are. Real change will begin to happen when educators, like yourself, begin to do what it takes to reach a generation of learners who deserve an entirely different learning experience than any of us were given.
