ABSTRACT
There are certain things that every student deserves throughout his or her learning journey. Although there are specific things that students need, specific standards that must be taught, and specific services that students must receive, the bottom line is that there are certain opportunities that all learners deserve from their school experience. An opportunity simply means that we make it possible for students to do something. As educators, many of us have a philosophy of education. Being at school and sitting in a traditional classroom is hard enough for this generation of learners. Every student deserves an opportunity to see failure for what it is. In and of itself, failure is not a negative thing. Failure is something that is experienced, something that happens. Students are never failures. Authentic audiences play an important role in the learning experience.
