ABSTRACT

Feedback provides a different experience. It’s not about approval or disapproval but about growth. Grades without feedback are like doctors diagnosing someone but not writing a prescription. It’s easy as an educator to want to be in control. Focusing on goals is not a bad thing. However, if we get so focused on the goals that we ignore the growth, our learners will never appreciate the journey. Archery is a competitive sport and activity that many people find to be very fulfilling. The idea of hitting a target and reaching a goal can be very satisfying. Ultimately, leaders empower and managers dictate. Leaders will create change and managers are content with the status quo. Changing the way that we do things opens the door for new ideas and new perspectives.
