ABSTRACT

Collaboration is important not just because it's a better way to learn. The spirit of collaboration is penetrating every institution and all of our lives. Collaborative learning is an educational strategy that involves groups of students working together in order to achieve a shared goal. Collaboration means more than just putting students together in a group and hoping they produce a competent product. In order to establish a student's role in a group, the group first needs to understand the strengths each person brings to the group. When students are working in groups, it is important to create specific assignments for students. Working together is a valuable skill for students to learn. In order to have success in a small-group setting, the teacher must be very purposeful about teaching students how to learn collaboratively.
