ABSTRACT

Although they share a lot of similarities, the biggest distinction between project-based learning and problem-based learning (PrBL) is that problem-based learning is more about the process, not the final product. Process is very underrated in education. The heart of problem-based learning is this need to learn in order to solve a problem. The biggest difference between problem solving and PrBL is with whom the knowledge lies. PrBL is authentic if the problem is authentic. PrBL looks very different than the traditional classroom. The obvious advantage to problem-based learning is that life is one very large problem-based learning experience. The teacher need to meet with students to determine that they are on the right track with what they plan to present in order to support the solution.
