ABSTRACT
This unit centers on the theme of nature’s power and how it proves humanity’s vulnerability. Within the unit, students will read, analyze, evaluate, and interpret texts about natural disasters and phenomena that can affect people’s everyday lives. Students will consider the many ways in which it is possible to be impacted by nature and examine the concept of vulnerability. Students will demonstrate their growing understanding of this theme through various projects, research, informational writing, analytical writing, and presentations.
