ABSTRACT
Young students will relate to the everyday problems and will enjoy the challenge these mysteries offer. They will have fun being detectives and will be sharpening their thinking skills in the process. This chapter gives students the opportunity to work the puzzles that Sam Smart is required to solve in order to join the Detective Club. The detectives help Brian and Jessica find the owner of the backpack that was left on the soccer field. To solve the mystery, students need to analyze a variety of information and use the process of elimination. Instead, they will record all the information on a chart. This book is intended to lead young students to discover the excitement of being a detective. Watch their confidence grow along with their problem solving abilities.
