ABSTRACT
The most common reason teachers feel uncomfortable with menus is their need for fair and equal grading. Teachers often feel it is easier to grade only one type of product made by all of the students, rather than grading a large number of different products, none of which looks like any other. The great equalizer for hundreds of different products is a generic rubric that can cover all the important qualities of an excellent product. When it comes to primary students and rubrics, it is often difficult to find a format that is effective to enhance students' products. It should also be noted that many kindergarten and first-grade programs do not give formal grades for student work.
