ABSTRACT

The most common reason teachers feel uncomfortable with menus is the need for fair and equal grading. The great equalizer for hundreds of different products is a generic rubric that can evaluate the important qualities of an excellent product. The rubric can be reproduced on the back of the menu along with its guidelines. Although valuable for both the student "teachers" and those in audience, student-taught lessons are not commonly used in the physics classroom. Secondary math curriculum is already packed with information, and turning class time over to students should only be done if it will benefit everyone involved; therefore, it can cause stress for both students and teachers. A rubric is included for feedback from the students to encourage active participation on the part of the student observers.
