ABSTRACT
Students playing politicians learn about the relationships between supply and demand, wants vs. needs, and the role of the government in a market economy by researching assigned speech topics. Distribute speech assignments to all of the politicians and explain that they will be making speeches on these topics to ecopolitans in a few days. The politicians demonstrate an understanding of the speech assignment by repeating the lesson objective to the teacher and by asking relevant questions. Tell the politicians that if they want to, they may hire ghostwriters to help them with their research. Many Ecopolitans have complained that they are unable to buy a preferred seat. It seems that they feel entitled to this privilege.
