ABSTRACT

Students playing the role of banker should demonstrate an understanding of the bank’s role in a free market economy. Students playing candidate and campaign manager roles should research and explore various economic issues that may affect Ecopolis. As Ecopolis begins, there are two ways in which our bank can earn profits. First, the teacher can get ecopolitans—including ourselves and politicians—to open up savings accounts. Second, the teacher can help satisfy the wants of our fellow citizens by offering them loans so that they can purchase preferred seating. Ecopolitans have earned some money, paid their taxes, and opened savings accounts at our bank. Very few of them, if any, have enough cash left over to buy a preferred seat.
