ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the factors that influence the outcomes of our creative efforts. It discusses some of the approaches along with three categories used for identifying outcomes as creative. Creativity and innovation are often assessed in light of the products or outcomes that result from the creative act. Originality is often considered the prime criterion for assessing creativity. An original outcome is not commonly found or observed in the everyday course of things. Resolution refers to the extent that the outcome seems to be correct, complete, or right. Elegance is expressed in a refined, understated way that suggests harmony and subtlety. Products are often assessed in terms of their organizational unity.
