ABSTRACT

This chapter allows us to design a sound, contemporary approach to identifying creativity. The Creative Strengths Profile takes a variety of formats, including physical documents in a folder, file, or container or documents in a digital format on CD or DVD, in a database, or in the cloud. The data from the first page of the Creative Strengths Profile provide the foundation for the actions on the second page of the profile. Building profiles to recognize students' creative strengths and talents may begin with our deliberate efforts to be alert and watchful for creative strengths in our students. An important distinction between the Creative Strengths Profile and the student portfolio involves ownership. Although the student's input and involvement in the development of the Creative Strengths Profile may be desirable and useful, it is primarily the teacher's document.
