ABSTRACT

Although all of these students differ in respect to their needs and talents, there are commonalities among them, and perhaps among many other students with special needs as well. It is important to note that all of these students in the reported case studies came to the attention of researchers because of their successful participation in an advanced Latin language program at the high school level. Although some of them were also advanced in other subject areas, clearly the 10 discussed are all advanced in their language skills. Other important commonalities are noted below, which provide a blueprint for thinking about interventions with learners with special needs.
