ABSTRACT

The first step that must occur before beginning to build a growth mindset home environment is to reflect on their present parenting mind-set. The intention of this tool is not to make the people feel that their parenting style is under attack or to make the people feel guilty. Mindsets can change—with deliberate practice and effort. It might be determined that one parent leans toward one mindset and the other leans toward the other. Growth mindset homes are ones where flexibility and optimism exist. Growth mindset people tend to be more optimistic. Dweck and her research collaborators have also found many parents who value a growth mindset but will often react in a fixed mindset way. Dweck (2015) stated, “(parents) react to their children’s mistakes as though they are problematic or harmful, rather then helpful. .
