ABSTRACT

I wish administrators knew that gifted children have a desire to learn something new every day—just like the rest of the student population. I wish they realized that gifted children should be allowed to work together (iron sharpens iron) to challenge their thinking. I wish administrators would stop assuming that the gifted kiddos “will ‘get it’ no matter what.” I wish administrators would realize that these are our future doctors, engineers, lawyers, judges, and political leaders. I want my doctor to be smarter than me. I wish administrators knew that gifted children have just as many needs as special education students that are struggling.
