ABSTRACT

The nuances that exist in the life of a gifted individual are not limited to the social realm. The true measurement of success, the honest appraisal of one’s philosophical or spiritual stance on life’s biggest questions, and the fulfillment of one’s own dreams and goals in a world where “great things are expected from a child as gifted as us,” are essential aspects in a well-lived life. A high profile career that is rooted in someone else’s dream sustains an individual for only so long. The beautiful thing about nuance is that it provides lots of intellectual wiggle room. The personal idiosyncrasies result naturally from the mixture of people and situations our gifted child confronts from day one.
