ABSTRACT

Sometimes the school will initiate the process for services and accommodations. Individuals with Disabilities Educational Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA) is the federal law that states that a free and appropriate education must be provided to all students who have a disability, meet their state’s eligibility criteria, and have an educational need for special education services. IDEA requires a formalized evaluation that might include a psychoeducational evaluation of the child’s intelligence, academic levels, and processing abilities and possibly behavior rating scales. Many students benefit from the structure provided at home and the efforts of elementary and secondary school faculties. Homeschooling provides parents the ability to give their daughter an individualized curriculum, no homework, opportunities for hands-on learning, and the possibility for her to be more active. Many school districts offer virtual schools, where students access courses online. Some students enroll in virtual school full-time and take all of their coursework online.
