ABSTRACT

Academic language therapy helps students who need primary instruction or remediation with the English code. Because the educational experience of American students is conducted primarily in the English language, adequate language skills are essential for school success. Each student who undergoes remediation must have a student notebook or student manual that is properly maintained, the purpose of the proper maintenance of a student notebook is to provide the student with a fully functioning resource guide. The lesson plan should be tailored specifically for each individual student based upon the student's level of mastery of different aspects of the English code. Sentences should be based upon the words found within the student's spelling pack or morphology pack. These words should be underlined and spelled/ used correctly. Each student in the fourth grade or higher who receives language remediation must be involved in morphology study.
