ABSTRACT

A majority of the students who have been identified and served during their elementary and secondary years will attend and graduate from college. Many of them will attend universities that are willing and able to provide appropriate accommodations, mentors, and other supports. The majority of these students will experience success that capitalizes on their strengths and minimizes their weaknesses in their chosen careers in fields such as the arts, engineering, the sciences, and architecture. As parents, educators, and mentors, each of authors has the responsibility and power to help these children realize their potential and to make their dreams come true. Samantha Abeel, in her book Reach for the Moon, eloquently writes of the impact that they can have on these students.
