ABSTRACT
This lesson about self-esteem incorporates role-play, an excellent way to practice social situations. In the process of role-playing, students process real-life situations, generate solutions, and meet conflict in a nonthreatening way. By playing a role, students remove personal doubts and fears. It's much easier to solve social problems when pretending to be someone else. Additionally, creative dramatics:
stimulates thinking, problem solving, and imagination, while encouraging awareness and concentration, helps develop emotional self-control, strengthens self-confidence in speaking and performing, develops individuality, enhances knowledge and understanding, provides insight, relies on key content, and provides opportunity for informal formative assessment of student knowledge.
