ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on makerspace projects that use paper and just a few additional tools. It discusses how to create paper circuits, and use a button maker to create buttons that raise awareness about issues that kids care about. The chapter deals with a prototyping project that emphasizes inclusion. Some great places to send cards include local children's hospitals and organizations that will send them to deployed military personnel; this encourages empathy and the development of Social Awareness. Prototyping is an important part of design thinking, which is integral to makerspace. Prototyping makes taking risks less scary, which can lead to true innovation.
