ABSTRACT

This chapter is all about technology and tools readers can use to help themselves manage their Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. The simplest form of a calendar is a paper day planner, which can be found at most office supply stores. With this system, the readers simply write down important events on the proper dates on the paper calendar. The major advantage of this type of system is that it is simple, affordable, and portable. However, as far as technology goes, it is somewhat limited. For this organization system to work, they have to remember to look at it. A day planner can easily be lost or forgotten in the bottom of their backpack. Still, it is a very good and inexpensive system. A great way to stay focused while reading is to listen to books on tape. Listening to a book while reading it helps them pay attention by providing a multisensory experience.
