ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the talent development framework, connecting curriculum design to the development of expertise. The chapter addresses the following questions: What does it mean to think and practice as an expert? What do we know about the development of expertise and how does this fit within the context of gifted education? Considerations are provided for linking the development of expertise to specific features of curriculum design: content, process, product, and generalizations within a field.
