ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a number of ideas for differentiating lessons and supporting students in analyzing and interpreting literature. Specifically, models are provided to support students in analyzing how literary elements, craft, and structure interact to contribute to the meaning in literature. The authors describe how differentiation features of complexity, depth, and abstractness can be applied to questioning, tasks, and products within English language arts (ELA). Ideas for differentiated products using the models are provided.
