ABSTRACT

Students can intentionally think through the problem at hand and the perspectives of those involved. Students are required to consider the needs and preferences of others, which means that they must pay attention to how others view the problem, plausible alternatives, and consequences, not discounting others' ideas or reasons. Bar-On defined interpersonal relationships as author's ability to establish and maintain mutually satisfying relationships and relate well with others. Thus, if they are highly skilled in interpersonal relationships, their relationships will be win-win; both parties benefit. Interpersonal relationships are built upon perspective-taking and empathy, two key concepts. If students are not able to think beyond personal assumptions about others, then interpersonal relationships will be challenging.
