ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses debriefing, a rational for its use, a set of debriefing questions, and, finally, talk about the importance of celebrations along the journey. Debriefing is a reflective technique used to gauge how successful, useful, and/or beneficial a learning journey was and to discern what could have made the journey better for key constituents. The most effective debriefings are structured. IBL is deeply rooted in the belief that all learners deserve the opportunity to construct meaning about themselves not only as consumers of knowledge, but also as producers of knowledge. Interest-based learning is a manageable process and curriculum catalyst. By doing so, the people hope that their learners become more engaged, satisfied, purposeful, and connected to the future that is at their doorstep.
